This morning I made my way to Bosque del Apache to watch the birds fly out. It was cold but amazing and I am glad I got to see it.
Today I was at the Bosque del Apache to see the wintering birds. I spotted these two Sandhill Cranes off by themselves so I snapped the picture capturing the Cranes and their reflections.
While taking a walk along Canyon Road today I spotted this Buddha in a small garden on a side street. I thought the rich wood was absolutely wonderful as it was touched by the sun.
Tonight the sunset was spectacular (well in New Mexico it is like that almost every night) so I went out in the cold and snapped this picture.
As I was running errands today I saw this gnarly tree. I had to stop and take a picture. I love the way it looks against the blue sky.
Today I drove out to Tesuque and stopped off at Shidoni Foundry. I love walking through all the sculptures. And if you go on a Saturday you can actually watch them pour bronze statues.
I was driving down Hwy 14 today and saw this beautiful scene of the Sandias. I just love the way the sun is struggling with the clouds.
Today we took a drive to Cerrillos. Here is a picture of the main street in Cerrillos. This is an interesting little town and we enjoyed our afternoon here.
During a walk down some side roads off of Canyon Road today I passed this painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe framed by ristras. I love the colors in this photo.
Today a took a short drive up Hwy 14 and when I reached Bonanza Creek Road I turned right and continued up to Rancho Alegre where I took a left - I ended up in front of Eaves Movie Ranch - unfortunately it is a closed set and all I could do was take pictures from the street.
After work I went for a walk down Canyon Road. I love this activity - I always find something new to photograph and I love the artwork.
This is Daisy, our new puppy. She is a Blue Heeler/Red Heeler mix. We have had her about five weeks and she has really embedded herself into our lives - she is a wonderful little girl and we look forward to many years of fun with her.
This is a picture of some shattered glass from one of our windows (this happened years ago and we kept some of it in a container). I love the way the light reflects on the different pieces.
I took a walk today on the property and on the way back to the house I snapped this picture of Tetilla Peak. I just love this view.
Another picture from around the house. This is a statue I have from my lion collection. It is a copy of a statue at St. Peter's Basilica that Thomas and I saw when we visited Rome years ago. The statue is at the Momument to Clement XIII.
I decided to try and photograph things around the house today. I found these silver pieces and I just loved the detail.
I visited Jackalope today with friends and walked around taking tons of pictures. They have so many interesting things. But I did like this bin of rock spheres and I like the way the picture turned out.
As I walked along Canyon Road today I decided to duck into some courtyards that I have never entered before. In one I found this beautiful statue. Just look how that dog is looking at his owner and you can see why they are Man's Best Friend.
I went for a walk downtown today and tooka a little side road that I had never been down before. I just loved all these old hitching posts that they used to make a fence.
I was walking down my road today and I noticed a spot of color in my neighbor's garden. I walked over and took this picture of these orange berries - not sure what they are but I loved seeing this color in the middle of winter.
After work today I headed downtown. I decided to take a walk in the Capitol and look at the art that is part of the Capitol Art Collection. I always seem to gravitate to this fountain - it is just amazing.
Today after work I drove up Hyde Park Road and stopped at the Chamisa Trail. I wasn't really dressed to take a walk in the snow but I did venture a little ways up the trail. I spotted this tiny tree with a little snow on it and thought it looked like the perfect thing to photograph.
Tonight the moon is pretty big, I guess the full moon is tomorrow night. But I liked the way the clouds were moving over the moon.
I was driving around town today and spotted this Ristra hanging on a house near the front door. I pulled over and snapped this picture.
I took a walk this afternoon along Old Santa Fe Trail. This small window painted in blue caught my eye. I love the simple window and lantern against the adobe.
This afternoon I was out in the yard and I noticed that the moon was already out. I loved the blue sky, wispy clouds and the partial moon.
I was looking around the house for something to photograph and I found these books on a shelf. They were given to me by a friend a while back. I have read all these books and Silas Marner is my favorite of these.
Today was very cold and windy and I opted not to leave the house - so I found these acorns that my friend Diane brought home from her recent trip to Texas. They are Bur Acorns and the picture does not show how large they really are.
I decided to go out and take some pictures as the sun was setting. I just loved how the clouds were forming in front of the sun. I think dusk is a great time of the day.
Today I stopped at the College of Santa Fe and took a little walk. It was totally deserted and much of the campus was still covered in snow. I liked the way this leaf stood out in the snow.
Well it's a New Year.
I wish everyone a happy and prosperous 2009.
