This afternoon I noticed this stack of clouds while I was taking my afternoon walk. I love the way they were sitting one on top of the other.
We have two Rose of Sharon bushes in the garden, one is purple and this one is pink. One has single petals and this one has double. One grows more like a bush and this on grows more like a tree. But they are both quite beautiful.
I went for an afternoon walk today downtown. I passed by the Santa Fe Community Convention Center and took this picture of Great Geese Pair. They might look familiar or resemble other public art in Santa Fe. They were scuplted by Peter Woytuk. He has numerous sculptures around the city - most notably are his crow sculptures.
I was meeting a friend for coffee this morning in the Railyard and I got there a little early - so I decided to take a walk and I ended up walking along Guadalupe. I passed by the State Archives Building and took pictures of the mural on the building - this is a small part of a very large mural by Gilberto Guzman.
I went for a walk today at the Santa Fe Municipal Recreation Complex off of Caja del Rio. There were lots of Apache Plume plants all along the pond. I love the delicateness of the plumes.
After work today I went on a little walk in a neighborhood near the hospital. I passed this garden that had this one hollyhock plant. I loved this bloom and couldn't help but stop and take a picture.
Early this morning I headed out to the Plaza for the Spanish Market. I found this sculpture in the Contemporary Hispanic Market section. They had some really interesting and colorful pieces at the market and I enjoyed my morning walking around.
While on a walk today I came across a garden full of daylilies. I really liked this burgundy one - when I looked up burgundy daylilies there were a bunch so I couldn't get its exact name.
While taking a walk today I noticed some movement in a garden in front of a house. So I walked over and found this blue and white and starry pinwheel just spinning in the wind.
I was downtown today and I passed by this bush that was packed with these beautifully thick flowers. So I stopped and took quite a few pictures. Once I got home I realized that it is a butterfly bush - I have one in my yard but the blooms don't quite look the same.
This evening I took a walk on the property and on the way home I was walking into the sun. I decided to snap a picture and was surprised by the sunburst that was created.
This morning I drove up to the ski basin and took a little walk along the Windsor Trail. I enjoyed the water in the stream and I saw quite a few wildflowers. I especially enjoyed this wildflower - chamerion danielsii.
Today we had a pretty cloudy day most of the day. Late in the afternoon I got this picture of these clouds that looked just like a painting.
I was trimming trees and bushes in the garden today when I noticed this birds nest sitting in the crook of a branch. It is such a perfectly shaped nest and it was kind of deep. Not sure what kind of bird it belongs to.
Our garden continues to bloom although it is a lot less than in the early summer. Today I noticed this beautiful sunflower. A truly wonderful flower.
We have this Saint Francis statue in our garden. I always enjoy sitting and looking at it. But most of all I love what he stands for.
I was sitting outside at work today for lunch and there was a hummingbird feeder near the bench I was sitting on. Just before I was ready to go back in to work this little guy showed up.
Not sure what kind of flower this is but I loved the little veins running through the petals. I got this photo while hiking on the Black Canyon Loop Trail in Hyde Park.
We have some new flowers this week in out garden. These daylilies bloomed a couple of days ago - we have had a beautiful garden this year. Lots of flowers and color.
There is a fire in the Jemez Mountains that was started by lightning. This evening I got this photo of the setting sun - the smoke gives it a hazy and painted effect.
Daisy continues to grow and has woven herself into our lives. She is so much a part of the family and her energy is unlimited. I have a hard time getting pictures of her because she doesn't sit still like this very often.
I woke up this morning to find the beautiful Morning Glory blooming on my porch. This is the first bloom of the year for this plant.
I captured this image when I was sitting on a rock ledge enjoying some beautiful views of the mountains in Colorado. This wonderful butterfly landed about two feet from me and stayed long enough for me to get a few pictures.
I was out hiking and decided to sit on a bench near a pond. After a few minutes these geese swam up to the area where I was sitting.
Since today is July 4th I looked for pictures that represented the day. I found this house in a neighborhood that really got into the spirit of the day.
While out hiking we encountered an area where there were all these little critters running around. I put my walking stick near one and he tried to attack it. They were so cute but I wasn't sure what they were - I looked online and I think they are baby gophers.
We were driving down NM21 and passed through Miami, NM when we stumbled upon Miami Lake - what a pleasant surprise.
I had thought that the flowers on the pear tree had frozen earlier in the Spring but today I noticed that we have about ten pears on our tree. I hope they are edible this year - last year they stayed really small and were very hard.
