Old Adobe Porch

I took an afternoon walk down Canyon Road and stopped at the Historic Santa Fe Foundation - the office is at El Zaguán (James L. Johnson House, 545 Canyon Road). I love the way the plaster has come off of the adobe structure.

Rail Runner

While walking around the Rail Yard today I watched the Rail Runner pull into the station. The cars are very sleek and I can't wait to take a ride.

Pinus edulis

This is a picture of our Piñon tree in the front of our house. It was our very first Christmas tree and after Christmas we planted it outside - it is now 18 years old. And the Piñon is the state tree of New Mexico.

Old Jars

While walking in an arroyo today I encountered this pile of old jars. I don't think they are really all that old but I liked the rusted top on this mason jar.

Glass Girl Paperweight

I was taking pictures around the house today. I took this picture of the paperweight. I have three of these types of paperweights - they are made by Mats Jonasson.

Dry and Cracked

Early this winter we had quite a bit of snow but the last few weeks have been moisture free. I took this picture today of the dried, cracked soil around my house. Lets hope for moisture soon.

Van Patten's Mountain Camp

Today I took a hike in the Dripping Springs Natural Area and ended up at Van Patten's Mountain Camp. There are a few ruins there and this picture is a door to the old hotel.
