The Arroyo in our Backyard

Beautiful Butterfly Bush

Another plant in our yard that started to bloom this week was the Butterfly Bush. This is the first bloom on the plant and I haven't seen any butterflies yet.

Our garden continues to bloom. We have a large bush of Russian Sage that is full of these wonderful purple flowers.

Municipal Recreation Complex

I took a walk today at the Santa Fe Municipal Recreation Complex. When I got to the pond I loved the way the sky was reflected in it. So I stopped and got this picture.

Rose Memorial Park

Today I spent a little time at Rose Memorial Park. The rose garden was in full bloom and the park looked great. I always enjoy my time in this small neighborhood park.

Gran Quivira and the New Mexico Sky

I took a road trip today to the central part of New Mexico. One of my stops was at Gran Quivira. This is one of the ruins that is part of the Salinas National Monument - the other two are Abo and Quarai.

Rosemallow

I visited a friend today and they had this great hibiscus blooming. I used to have one of these plants but at some point it died. I really miss it and I'm thinking of getting another one.

All in a Day's Work

I was trying to take a picture of this flower but this bee kept flying around - I got all these pictures with blurs in them from the bee moving. Eventually he settled down to do a little work and I got this great shot.

Lovely Lavender

I was walking downtown today and I stopped at The Inn at Loretto. They have some nice sculptures there but today this lavender caught my eye. I wish you all come smell it!

The ponds in the garden are also coming to life. We have new baby fish and our water lilies are blooming like crazy.

Our Little Cherries

The cherry trees in our garden are the only fruit trees that are actually producing fruit this year. I think the other trees got hit by a late frost. Not sure what type of cherry tree these are but am happy to see these little cherries.

Today I visited El Rancho de las Golondrinas. This is El Molino Grande de Sapelllo (The Big Mill from Sapello). I think it is the most beautiful of the buildings on the site.

Hemerocallis

I took a walk down our road today and enjoyed our neighbors' gardens. The weather has been great for the plants and the rain has encouraged the flowers to bloom. I particularly liked this daylily - the color reminded me of the sun.

The Setting Sun

This evening sitting on the porch I was watching as the sun was setting. I loved how the sky darkened and the clouds started to obscure the sun. I just love Santa Fe sunsets.
