A Most Beautiful Flower

I took a walk on the property today. I came across this dead and dried flower. I think this is the most beautiful flower for a cold winter day.

Our Little Buddy

Here is the latest picture of Buddy. He is growing fast and is turning out to be a great puppy. He is a Blue Heeler mix and is about 8 weeks old.

Welcome Home

Well we made it home from our trip to Louisiana for Christmas. This was the view of the Sangre de Cristos from our backyard that greeted us when arrived home.

Cemetery Statue

We are on our way home today and we stopped in Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, TX. I liked this statue and the way the sun was hitting it.

Her First Communion

This is my niece Madison. She will be making her First Communion soon. My sister asked me to take pictures of her in her dress since I won't be there on that day.

My niece Tori wanted some casual pictures to send out with her graduation annoucements. So today we went out and took quite a few pictures. I liked this one with her letterman jacket. She graduates from Lafayette High School in May 2010.

Bird House

Took a walk today around my Sister's neighborhood. Spotted this bird house in a tree. I like the rustic look of it.

Nice Alligator!

We took my nieces and nephew to Avery Island today - this is where they make Tabasco Sauce. We drove around Jungle Gardens and Bird City and spotted this alligator sunning himself on the bank.

Fungus

I went for a hike with my niece and nephew today. We came across some different types of fungi but this one was the most interesting. Not sure what it is but I like the way it looked.

Statue on Top of the Church

On our way to Lafayette to see family for Christmas we made a stop in Natchitoches, LA for some lunch. We decided to walk around a little and stopped in at Immaculate Conception Church. I got this photo of the statue on top of the church.

Cemetery Angel

We stopped in Texas at a cemetery while driving to Louisiana. I thought this was a great statue of a angel watching over a grave.

Grave Marker

We stopped in a cemetery while driving to Louisiana and found the rustic cross grave marker. I thought the simplicity of the marker made it the most wonderful marker in the cemetery.

Christmas Wreath

I took a walk today and passed this gate with this beautiful wreath. I love the colors against the worn wooden gate.

Yucca Plant with Seed Pods

We had quite a few yuccas bloom this past summer. Here is a plant with the seed pods. I think the pods and just as beautiful as the flowers.

Reindeer Stocking Holder

I am still not feeling all that great so it was more picture taking around the house. This is a picture of one of our stocking holders. This is the Reindeer and the other is Santa's Sleigh.

Daisy and Buddy

Daisy seems happy to have someone to play with. Buddy likes to jump on Daisy and bite her ears. She is very patient with him. They are both Blue Heeler mixes and I hope they grow up to be good friends.

Nothing But Beads

I am still sick so the only pictures I have are of things around the house. I have a glass jar of beads so I dumped them into a tray and started taking pictures.

A Christmas Gift

I have the flu and getting out to take pictures is not possible. So I looked for things around the house today and decided to take a picture of this gift we received. I thought the wrapping was wonderful.

I took a little drive today to Galisteo, NM. I liked the landscape as I was driving. I really loved the colors in this one.

I took a walk on the property today and as I was returning home I took this picture. I liked the way the sky looked with the sun behind the clouds.

A Walk in the Park

This afternoon I took a walk in Amelia White Park. It was covered with snow and was very peaceful and beautiful.

Today we got another light snow. This is a picture out the back of the house. We had a little wind and it was blowing snow all around.

Hi, My Name is Buddy

I got home from work today and Thomas was there with this little guy. He went to the Espanola Valley Humane Society and adopted him this afternoon. He is an Australian Cattle Dog Mix and looks a lot like Daisy.

Winter Rose

I took a walk today at lunch and found a garden that had this one last rose bud in it. The deep red color caught my eye with all the browns and greens as background.

Good Morning!

I woke up this morning and looked out the bedroom window and noticed the sky with a hint of color. I hurried and got dressed and went out to get this beautiful picture of the sunrise.

A Light Snowfall

This morning we woke up to a light snowfall. I took this picture of a lantern we have hanging in the yard. It kind of looks like it is dusted with sugar.

Sangre de Cristos at Sunset

This evening when I got home from work I went out back and took this picture of the Sangre de Cristos. That red tint is how they got their name.

A Mini Snowman

I took a walk today at the Black Canyon Campground and I found this tiny snowman on a picnic table. Isn't he great. Whoever made this little guy sure put a smile on my face.

An Afternoon Visitor

Today I looked out the window to the back of the house. I saw this coyote out under the Russian Olive tree. I grabbed my camera and quietly walked out the front of the house and around to the back. I had to take the pictures hiding on the side of the house and holding the camera around the corner using the screen to take the picture.
